Pau Luque’s research is focused on coastal oceanography, specifically sandy beaches. He initially worked on bathymetric inversion using wave video recordings. Afterward, he studied the potential flooding and erosion impacts of mean sea-level rise on the coasts of the Balearic Islands, and developed a novel methodology to estimate equilibrium beach profiles for such assessments. Currently, his research centers on hydrodynamic variable measurement, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the development of a multiplatform wave and bathymetry measurement system, based on the combination of traditional video monitoring with stereoscopic images, continuous wave radar, and submerged instruments.
